Description: AGRO CS has a long history in production of agricultural goods. In 2011, the company improved energy efficiency on the premises and constructed a compost heap. OMS’s task was to provide lighting solutions for the whole complex of AGRO CS buildings, namely production hall, composting area, a small warehouse, and a consignment warehouse with inventory.

THE LIGHTING SOLUTION

In total, we installed 179 pieces of LED luminaires. However, each space required different approach. The production hall with high ceiling (8.4 m) required powerful 106 W luminaires with high IP 65. For the roofed warehouses with shelf systems we used continuous line LED luminaires with easy installation. In the consignment warehouse with inventory, we placed Smart-L, our most popular luminaire for industrial applications. In the warehouse we installed a luminaire with IP 65 due to the increased amount of dust.

LIGHTING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Within this project, we installed lighting management system to the consignment warehouse with inventory and production hall.

As the production area is supplied with daylight through roof windows, we installed intensity sensors to regulate the amount of artificial lighting to the optimal level, i.e. adjust it in accordance with the available natural light. The constant operation of the hall required fully automatic lighting which would not need any human interference. If necessary, lighting can be controlled from a local control spot and also via time schedules set according to the actual shifts of the employees and the nature of activities carried out in the hall. The overall yearly savings on energy are 76.45 %, CO2 production reduced by 83,7 % (i.e. 27,139 kg). The return on investment is 2.5 years.

In the warehouse area, we installed a fully autonomous control system with the use of movement sensors. Agro CS warehouse area is well-structured with many side aisles, therefore, we adjusted the setting of the sensors to fit the construction properties of the shelves. If there is no movement detected, the outcome luminous flux is for safety reasons maintained at the level of 10 %. If there is some movement detected, luminous flux of the luminaires goes to 100 %. The overall yearly savings on energy are 71.6 %, CO2 production reduced by 79.9 % (it is 50,941 kg). The return on investment is 3.3 years.
